Coding and clinical documentation of the most frequent orthopedic are discussed during this session. You'll also learn more about frequently used terms such as rhabdomyolysis, osteomyelitis, and osteoarthritis and their associated coding. And, you'll experience coding and clinical documentation together since, typically, ICD-10 education is frequently done for coding or for clinical documentation improvement, but not as a combined effort. As a result, healthcare has been so focused on ICD-10 education that sometimes the specific conditions or procedures have been overlooked. Finally, the move to bundled payment methodology increases the importance of both coding and CDI.
Please note: Orthopedic injuries and procedures are covered in Part 4: "Love Is a Hurting Thing" Trauma and Injuries.
