During this workshop, you'll receive an update regarding the 2017 ICD-10-PCS guidelines as well as an update on the changes to root operation definitions. One of the big changes is the coronary artery descriptions, which will be covered in the New Technology Section (Emerging Technology) and how these qualify for an additional payment to hospitals. You will also learn about the status of other documents that were included or will not be updated beyond 2016. And, of particular importance, this workshop will address how the changes to the guidelines and definitions impact DRG assignment.
October 1 is here and reimbursement dollars are on the line with the massive ICD-10 codes changes being in effect. And this time, there will be no grace period. Your coding is correct — without mistakes — or else consequences for your facility loom large.
